Polaroid
It was our first day in Georgia. After getting off a flight that felt like forever from Milwaukee to Atlanta and then another three-hour road trip through the mountains, we hit our final destination, Ellijay, Georgia. This was new territory for us, and we didn’t have anything planned for the next couple of days, so we decided to take in the scenery around us.
We had an amazing view from our cabin. We were next to a medium sized pond that was a walkway leading us down the hill from the cabin to the small wooden pier that slightly hung over the pond. Over the water I could see the reflection of the captivating mountains and trees. It was so pleasing how the water made a perfectly clear mirror image of the scenery, like a look into another and more divine dimension.
We needed to see more stunning almost paintings like nature, we were yearning for more beauty. We all piled into the car not sure where it would lead us. We had no plan other than to just keep driving the countryside admiring the views. About an hour had passed and we were getting a little antsy.
As we were about to turn around and end our journey until we came across a dirt road that led us to a hiking trail. We debated whether we should go or not, since it was a different state and we weren’t really sure what could be in the forest including dangerous animals like bears, but we decided to go anyway. Thank goodness we went because it led us to a tall bridge with a river flowing underneath, our second favorite view of the day. It was a lot to take in; the clear, crisp water flowed over big boulders making the water rough. There was also a large amount of trees that surrounded the whole river adding some color to the picture.
Taking in all the stunning scenery will forever make this one of the most memorable days of my life and I was so glad I could spend it all with my family.
