Life Is A Beautiful Thing
It is a dangerous thing to be left alone with one’s thoughts. I believe that lying around all day being unproductive is unhealthy for a person. It comes to a point where one encounters an utmost disinterest: bored flipping through TV channels, spiritlessness staring at the pictures on the wall: at the point of being utterly unimpressed. Boredom usually leads to self examination. This is a dangerous thing. When we examine ourselves, it is instinct to think negatively: the things we’ve done wrong in our lives, people we hurt, the relationships we have lost. We go over every single regret and wrong doing until we stare at the mirror and see an unrecognizable person. This is a dangerous thing.
Personally, it can come to a sort of nothingness where I feel like a potato. I like to think I am quite a happy person, disregarding my bad days. Everyone has their ups and downs, their good and bad days, times when we feel fulfilled and times we feel empty. I don’t believe this means we are depressed or anything dire, I simply believe the ups and downs are a part of being human. Our emotions are what define us on different days. We all experience a plethora of emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, confusion, but it is what we do with these emotions that truly clarify our identity. Instead of lying around like potatoes, I believe every individual should utilize one’s imagination on an everyday basis. We can be creative. Creating something out of nothing, forming our own concoctions.
When finding a creative outlet, one has to search within themselves. If words flow through your mind, create poetry. If you find yourself mute, draw something. Use your imagination to create art and beauty, for it is one of our greatest outlets. We can use our experiences in life for a greater good: to inspire, devise art, and make love. These emotional responses can be elegant and beguiling. We need to accept our feelings for what they are in order to welcome the things in life that may not seem so pleasant: letting go of the idea we have fabricated of how our life is supposed to be. Cherish the pain and the sadness, for after every rainfall, the sun will rise again.
When the seasons change and cold air drifts through the air, it can be harsh on the body: physically and mentally. Our bones feel brittle, skin becomes dry and cracked, and our moods plummet. However, it does not have to be this way. See the beauty in the leaves changing, the white snow sparkling, and the excitement that arises around the holidays. Life and happiness is revolved around the mentality you live it in.
Spread kindness: being kind to others does not only make other people happy but also allows us to acknowledge the happiness we caused. This in turn makes us happier. Being able to see the good in all things, viewing every challenge in life optimistically, and living everyday in a positive and productive light can lead to a life time of happiness and self love. Extending warmth and affection unto society is another tremendous release. Meditate often, reducing the amount of self conflict that one might grasp, improving our habitual emotions and promoting positive progression. Unearthing the passions and infatuations in life that drive and motivate us, for these pursuits will endorse our personal liberation. Life is a beautiful thing.
