Alone on an empty plot of land on Rhode Island sits a farmhouse. The farmhouse is special in a horrific way. The house is no longer home to any living creature, but the undead. Many people have visited the Perron family because of all the stories and haunts many people due to the spiritual encounters. The home is believed to house common wandering spirits. The house is centuries old with stories and beliefs tied to it. The house got so big that we as modern humans have made movies based off of the experience that has happened. The home has a creepy past known to house all kinds of spirits and now living with us in a more modern movie of this horrific event.

The conjuring house has a dark backstory more than you can ever know. “The house has a history of murder, rape and suicide. Apparently that’s not enough to dissuade buyers in this overheated market: the property’s listing says it’s rumored to be haunted by the spirit of Bathsheba Sherman, who resided there in the 19th century” (Haring). As stated the house has a very dark backstory with different reasons then just one. “The 2013 horror film The Conjuring is a fictionalized account of the Perron family and their work with paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.”(Haring). Abigale died of an illness at 93 and was buried in Burrillville. She is still at the house and warns people about dark and evil spirits in the basement and she wants all to treat the home with respect. Abigail is the main spirit residing in the house, she is friendly and likes to interact with people.(Conjuring House) Having so many social spirits brings up the question: what is a spirit?

Many people think spirit and ghost are all the same thing but they are not. “Ghosts are similar to psychotic human beings, incapable of reasoning for themselves. … Spirits on the other hand are the surviving personalities of all of us who pass through the door of death in a relatively normal fashion (summit spirits).” This helps explain the difference of what ghosts and spirits are in a more modern term. The Ghosts are tied to the location of their death, but don't realize they are dead and have unfinished business. ,(summit spirits). Spirits are not tied to a place and their souls survive but not their physical bodies. (summit spirits). By knowing the definition of what ghosts and spirits are, this helps talk about what stories people have with them.

The conjuring house is still believed to have paranormal activity to this day. People still report seeing ghastly spirits all throughout the property. On October 31  The House That Had to be Sold A dream home turns into a nightmare as two newlyweds conclude a violent ghost is threatening their baby daughter (Panoply Media).” This is a prime example of how the house is haunted. This house has had quite a few examples of ghost sightings and other paranormal activities. Another example of this is on “November 21: The Woman in the Corner: Jim lost his wife 20 years ago, but now a ghostly woman visits him in the night (Panoply Media).” This quote shows the story of a man named Jim who lost his wife. Every night since her passing he has been visited by a ghastly woman. This is another example of the weird power this house holds.

Through all of these interesting stories this show was able to build up a legacy. The film the conjuring is a fictionalized depiction of the Perron family's home. These films are now known as cult classics and are beloved by movie goers to this day. The conjuring is a trilogy movie series based around the perron family home. The story of the movie is that a family moves into the house and starts noticing paranormal activity. They call a paranormal investigator to help them and the story just gets crazier from there. Along with the movies, the house is now a place open to the public for tours. People can come in and walk through the real Perron house and if they have the desire to, they can even spend the night. All in all the conjuring house plays a significant role in the horror genre and the secrets of the households are still popular to this day amongst paranormal believers.

In conclusion, the Conjuring house holds a rich history filled with ghost stories that continue to captivate and intrigue audiences to this day. The legacy of the house extends beyond just paranormal occurrences, as it serves as a reminder of the power of storytelling and the enduring impact of the past on the present. As visitors seek out the house in search of a glimpse into its mysterious past, they are met with a reminder of the past and the enduring power of the supernatural. The Conjuring house stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the past, and the powerful hold that ghost stories have on our imagination. AI
