The story “ The Diary of Anne Frank” is about an average Jewish family in the 1940’s that lived in Frankfurt, Germany.The youngest child in the Frank family is Anne Frank she always had a creative mind and vivid imagination however she never really had a way to express that.The date was January 30th,1933 where Adolf Hitler rose to power with his Nazi party.So to avoid family separation and being sent away to concentration camps. Otto Frank, (Anne’s Father) quickly thought on his feet by taking his whole family and escaping to a secret annex (a building above his business) where a bookshelf hid all the secrets of a small family. On July 6,1942 on Anne’s 13th birthday her dad surprised her with what would be her last birthday gift for a while, her dad surprised her with a red and white striped diary with a clipped lock on the front. Otto Frank gave this to Anne because he believed it would be a good way for her to make sense of the world.Then about a couple weeks later the Frank family went into the secret annex now from this point on they could not go outside to get fresh air,send letters to keep in touch with friends,and they had to stay very quiet during the day to prevent from getting caught by the Green police. Once the Franks had only one school bag to fill per person they escaped over to the secret annex where later another family will be joining them.About a couple hours after they settled in the Van Daans came into the secret annex Petronella Van Daan had always had a life full of luxury with fur coats,men,and money.Herman Van Daan was your average rich man who was pudgy and smoked cigarettes. Now for thier son Peter, Peter was always really shy,he never really socialized with anyone and he had a cat named Mouschi.As the family was living in the Annex for about two months a dentist named Mr.Dussel move into the secret annex, Mr.Dussel was married but had to leave his wife without notice because there was only room in the annex for one.

About another two months later The frank/Van Daan family were listening to the radio and found out that allies had landing in africa to help with the war.Everyone was hoping and praying that it would be an early end to the war.As December rolls around the “family” starts celebrating Hanukkah but after the family has thier first night of celebration Peter grabs a lamp and falls making a really loud thud. Then all the sudden they all here something from down stairs as everyone was scared for their live Patronella grabbed thier money thinking it was the green police and was going to make an attempt to pay them off. But as Mr.Frank goes to check to see if the “thing” had left but then there was no noise. As confused as the family was they just continued on with thier night and went to bed. In March 6,1994 the Americans landed in Italy while the Franks and VanDals were still in hiding,about a month later on April 20, 1944 the Americans continued making progress on trying to end the war,and on June 6,1944 D-day came along where France invaded in Normandy. Around 2 months later on August 4,1944 the phone in the annex just kept ringing and ringing all day and Mr.Dussel started to get very anxious about why the phone was ringing so much.About a few hours later as Anne was working on her last diary entry the Green police came into the annex and arrested the family and sent them to Auschwitz concentration camp.About a year of being in the concentration camps Anne and Margot die of Typhus fever which is a disease that involves contaminated food or water. A Month later in May of 1945 the allies finally win the war over the Nazi. Then as Mr.Frank Survived the war on June 25,1947 he received Anne’s diary and he published in and from then on the Frank family became a legend an a timeless story.
