Misconceptions of Mormons
I am of a religion shunned constantly. I hear things like "You aren't Christian", "How moms do you have?", or "You worship a dead man." These are all wrong, and we, the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, are none of these. True, we practiced polygamy back in the 1800's, but it was repealed by our prophet only a few decades later. However, a group calling themselves "Fundamentalist Mormons" practice polygamy, but they are not, nor will they ever be, a faction of our church.
Our First prophet translated The Book of Mormon from the golden plates as another testament of Christ, not as a book of B.S. to replace the Bible. This book merely shows the story of how the Americas came to be inhabited and the on going war between the nephites and the Lamenits while telling truths from the ancient prophets in America.
So, let me ask this; how can we not be Christians? The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ that we firmly believe in, thus we believe in Christ. How can we not be Christian when pray in the name of Jesus Christ to God? How can anyone assume we do not believe in Christ When even our name has His name in this title.
I am a true Mormon, I will live as a true Mormon, and I will die a firm believer in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!
