Kindness MAG
From in the middle of the room
She hears the conversation moving
Words fly from mouth to mouth
Heartless, without moral consciousness.
Empty stares and nervous glances
Bring anxious smiles.
She walks into judging accusations
Wondering what was said
This time
A darkness falls,
Shadows cast on itching eyes
Minds believe what they have been told
Looking up through lowered eyelids, they watch her
Shuffling, shaking with awkward shame
Alone, ignored, an outcast to them
She tries to quicken her slowing pace
Her feet are weights glued to the floor
Mocking laughs and pointing gazes
Everything about her seems out of place
Suddenly there comes, from the back of the crowd
Sparkling eyes,
A heartwarming smile
Pushing away temptations to blend in with the crowd
He goes to the girl who is drowning in tears
Looks into her eyes, so pretty and blue
Deep down into her soul he searches until he finds something
they cannot see
Forgiveness, despite their stares of ridicule
Compassion and understanding runs through him
His long-sleeved shirt is ripped at the seam;
With cloth so soft, he wiped her puffy eyes with love
Whispers of encouragement were spoken into her ear
The audience leaned in,
Hoping to hear anything.
As silence screamed out he led her away,
His hand held hers tight
The room was quiet as the crows stood speechless
