I can relate to Lina O. in her article "The Night Sky," when she addressed her fear of death. Although the article talks mainly about believing in God for the wrong reason, I connected with her as she wrote, "In a fraction of a second, the moth's life burned into nothingness. No time to save it, but endless time to contemplate it. I am so afraid to die". It's frightening to think that one second we're here and the next we're not. Lina had a strangely poetic way of describing the eerie feeling death gives and I wholeheartedly agree with it because of the many times I've sat and cried about what it might feel to close my eyes and never wake up again. To never see the smiles of the people I love. I appreciate Lina for discussing this awful feeling in her article, it's nice to know I'm not the only one afraid of vanishing and becoming a crisp memory.
