Witty, funny, relatable - there is absolutely nothing to dislike about "What's in a Name?", a perfectly written memoir by Amy Pan. Her writing is humble, yet she manages to humorously cover what could very well be a hard topic for some teens: their names. Like Amy points out, "...there is always one poor, poor child (be it Johnny Poopenspiel or Mary Humperdink whose name is just a little, well, amusing." She goes on to share her first-grade memories with a kid she titles Joe, who would constantly create puns or lame jokes about her surname, Pan, which she actually provides a dictionary definition for (like I said earlier, this memoir is incredibly witty and hilarious).
   Whether you're struggling with name problems (perhaps you are a Johnny Poopenspiel and have your own Joe bugging you), feeling down, or simply looking for a good laugh, "What's in a Name?" will lighten up your mood and perhaps even make your day, as it did mine. This is a genius literary concoction, filled with so many contrasting aspects, and I think it deserves a read from every teenager that comes across it. It's simply perfect, and Amy deserves all the praise for writing such an entertaining and brilliant piece.
