Fallen Birds
I found Erin G.'s article, "Fallen Birds" extremely moving as well as completely true. The outstanding analogy of a fallen bird and the suffering in Africa depicts the philosophy of the human race. The baby bird, fallen from its nest, sat in the grass dying, with no opportunity for life. The woman that passed by stated, "Not much we can do. Try not to think about it when you sleep tonight." Too many people across the globe live by this philosophy, as exemplified by the lack of actions to aid the troubled continent of Africa. They believe there is nothing we can do. The continent is crippled by genocide, famine and poverty. If one truly cares, there is always something they can do to help.
