As a type one diabetic, I was told earlier on in this pandemic that because I had this auto-immune disease, it made me more at risk for having worse symptoms. This is not true. According to Dr. Mary Pat Gallagher, a pediatric endocrinologist at NYU Langone Health, having this auto-immune disease does not make any covid-19 case any worse. Considering that type one affects the digestive system and not the respiratory system, this is actually no surprise. In any case, this is very good news and appreciated by all 1.25 Americans with type one diabetes.

I have type one diabetes and watched a podcast about how this will affect my risk from covid-19.
