Imagine your friends are talking about this brand new safe alternative to smoking called Juul. You do it once and now your addicted. But” its totally safe” you keep telling yourself. Then BOOM! Just like that your in the hospital bed wondering if your going to come out of this place alive. So, who is to blame for you and other teenagers habit of vaping? You, the teenagers? The FDA, or even the parents and JUUL and vape companies? Well, if your pointing to blame just one person, then your thinking about it wrong. This is not only one group or persons fault. This problem will need everybody’s contribution to solve it.                                                                                                                                                Some people will argue that it is still safer then smoking. But nobody knows the long term affect of vaping, so we do not know that it is safer for sure. They may also argue that smoking will also damage your body more than vaping will and that vaping will make you seem “cool”. Yes, maybe smoking affects your body worse, and maybe you will vape and not get sick. But is that maybe worth your health? Plus vaping won’t be so cool when your 6 feet under and causing your whole family grief. One more argument that thy might make is that smoking still kills more people and sends more people to the hospital then vaping does. Although this may be true at the moment , at least we know what cigarettes contain, at least we know what to diagnose smokers with. This vaping disease is still foreign to us. We don’t even know what’s causing the disease, let alone looking for a cure.
Vaping is extremely dangerous. It has taken the lives of 13 young adults and the number is only growing. It has also hospitalized over 800 people and that number will also continue to grow unless we come together. Vaping contains a vaseline type substance that sticks to your lungs and literally makes you drown yourself. Some hospitals have reported seeing teenagers lungs looking like a elderly persons lung when diagnosed with the disease. When it gets to that point, we all have to realize change is needed. One more thing that makes vaping dangerous is the fact that you don’t really know what your inhaling. So, do you really think its safer then smoking when in reality, we don’t even know what’s introducing itself to our lungs.
This topic is extremely important because vaping is taking the lives of our youth. Not only has it taken the lives or 13 people, it has also hospitalized. In order to stop this chaos, we need all hands on deck.  This includes the FDA, JUUL and vaping companies, parents, and most importantly, we the teenagers need to step up. So, what can you do today to stop the death number of our youth? How will you stop our teens from smoking, vaping and JUULING? Make yourself the change this world needs.
