Protecting Clean Waters
To the Editor:
I strongly believe that a main reason why the United States isn’t in the top ten developed countries of the world is because of its life expectancy, which can only be improved by improving some small factors such as providing and protecting the clean and fresh water.
Right now, less than one percent of the world’s fresh water is available for direct human use, so everyone must try to preserve as much as they can, and protect it, for that’s about as much as the world has.
Every day, the US consumes a lot of water, according to the Belyaev, V, Institute of Geography, U.S.S.R. National Academy of the Sciences, Moscow, the per capita use of water is highest in North and Central America than anywhere else in the world! The Clean water act passed in 1972 was an attempt to stop this, but the choice is yours.
