Benefit of Electric cars
Imagine the world’s oil coming to an end, countless fights between nations. Cars and vehicles not being able to be in use, no solution to fix this, vehicles are coming to an end. Well this could be a possibility in the near future. As climate change and global warming are approaching non-returnable levels, there must be a change in the world’s influence on climate change. The average amount of carbon emissions per passenger vehicle is around 4.6 metric tons per year. A metric ton is 1,100 kilograms or 2,205 pounds of emissions. Every gallon of gasoline burns around 8.8 thousand grams of carbon dioxide. Cars could make a huge difference from how many emissions are being released every year. There are around 1.44 billion cars in the world. We can make a huge difference in the battle against climate change by using these methods to fight for us, our future and the planet.
“The Biden Administration on Wednesday will propose the nations most ambitious climate regulations to date, two plans designed to ensure two-thirds of new passenger cars and a quarter of new heavy trucks sold in the United States are all electric by 2032”. These are one of the first major steps of any nation all around the world to put an end to climate change. The country that produces the 2nd most greenhouse gasses, second to China, will have 66% of its vehicles electric. Having 66% of all cars and pickups electric as well as having roughly 25% of all heavy trucks being electric carbon emissions would skyrocket down and create a stronger economy as well as strengthen the battle with climate change. “Still, others see the proposed regulations as government overreach and say they will surely face legal challenges”. We citizens need to follow the government and its rules, rather than listen to the car manufacturers with their worries. By 2030 cars will almost be 70% electric. This is the Biden administration plan to fight climate change whereas car manufacturers expressed distress in fighting for the climate. “BMW (BMWG.DE), Honda (7267.T), Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE), Ford and Volvo Cars (0175.HK) - which previously struck the California deal - said in a joint statement they support the administration's EV goal but the federal government must take "bold action to...build consumer demand.". Car companies worry about making more money while spending less, and not make a change for the battle against climate change. They want to make what most young people want. Fast, acceleration, exhaust etc. We need to be better than this.
To ensure a better future and really tackle climate change before it is irreversible, we can start with electric cars.
