Recently, the Earth has been in flames, literally. No matter the size, each fire has a massive impact on the earth, causing mass destruction. On average, there have been more than 100,000 wildfires per year.  One wildfire that recently took place in California and has been a very popular discussion across the country. The state has had many wildfires this year alone, tas his is the most destructive wildfire season of record in California. Many people have lost their lives, been severely injured, and lost homes due to these fires. It is shocking to realize that one minute you could be having a great dinner with your family, and the next minute your house is burned to the ground. In that moment, a whole time of  memories are just gone and turned into ashes. I believe humans are destroying and harming the earth as a result of environmental destructions that has happened in this past year.

For example, in Arizona this year, a couple was having their gender reveal party and it quickly took a disastrous turn. This gender reveal party sparked a wildfire which burned almost 47,000 acres of land and caused the state more than $8 million in damages. The box containing the gender of the couple’s child contained an explosive that is very dangerous. The father of the upcoming child had packed the box with a highly explosive substance called Tannerite. Tannerite is used for firearm practice. It is a combination of oxidizers and fuel like aluminum powder. He shot the box with a rifle and then it all went downhill.

On the other hand, many humans around the world take part in littering whether it is on the streets, on the side of the road, or at the beach. They are not cautious of what can happen when you litter. For example, throwing a water bottle or plastic bag in the ocean is very unsafe for the ocean life living there. The fish can consume the plastic, which can kill them. Many ocean life animals are starting to become extinct because of humans being careless.  To prevent this problem, many fines have been created but society still continues to harm our Earth without realizing it. The definition of littering is “making (a place) untidy with rubbish or a large number of objects left lying about”. Do we want random, disgusting objects lying around? Our earth is fragile, and it should be handled with care.

To summarize, our earth is being destroyed by humans and they are harming the earth whether they may or may not realize it due to damaging environmental destructions. Many people are careless and as a result, they are damaging our earth by causing fires and littering. Wildfires and littering are destroying many habitats across the world, leading to extinction most of the time. Humans are also covering our earth with garbage, which also isn’t good for animals. Littering can also produce pollution which contaminates water and we won’t have clean air due to this ongoing issue.
