Someone. Anyone.
Swingsets stand
Half empty
Chains grasped
By tiny eager hands.
Eyes searching
Frantically,
For someone.
Anyone.
Recesses
Emmersed in dirt
Thrown by those
Who never saw
That every shard
And every stone
Broke that soul
A little more.
But every glance
Flashed like sunshine
By that one girl
In that one red dress
Is kept in the timid smile
The rest doesn't matter
As much as she did.
But he still feels empty
Because there are
Internal bruises
That a pretty girl
Can't fix.
