Honey-Fire Words
You smelled the blood in the water
Her craving for attention,
Validation
Your charming words drip off your chin
She rushes to catch each drop
Your words smooth
Over her,
Sink in like honey
But, like honey,
They leave a residue
A sticky spot forms
Even as it soothes
Even so, she ignores it
Overlooks the warning
Leave behind herself
To be as much of you
As she can
By collecting honey-word-drops
Now, your words
Are fire
Exploding from your soul
They sear into her
Scorch her skin
Peeling back the layers
One
By
One
Until all that remains
Of her is a charred
Corpse
