In the dimly lit room, with rain cascading outside my window accompanied by the distant rumble of thunder and sporadic lightning bolts, the clock struck 3:00 a.m. and the haunting echoes of screams pierced the air again. I couldn't shake the unsettling feeling, knowing that somewhere across the street, a young girl was trapped in a nightmare.

My mind drifted back to the first day we met, when her smile was a beacon of warmth in contrast to the cold reality outside. She spoke passionately about her dreams of studying architecture in America, fueled by her love for drawing. Her dedication was evident, having achieved an impressive IELTS score of 7.5 at the age of 15. Our conversations were filled with her aspirations and the vibrant imagery of her artistic pursuits.

As time passed, a cloud descended upon her spirit. I vividly recall a day in the park when she sat on the grass, tears staining the vibrant landscape she was sketching. The once bright hues of red and green palm trees now mingled with somber blacks and grays. The drawing portrayed a tumultuous sea, waves crashing violently beneath a foreboding sky. When she pointed to a barely visible boat and asked if it could survive the storm, I couldn't deny the impending doom. Her smile, though present, carried a weight that seemed to mirror the heaviness of that day's weather.

Days later, she disappeared from the park, and the truth unfolded in a whirlwind of accusations. Accused of stealing her best friend's painting for a study abroad application, she became the target of merciless online condemnation. Desperate to help, I found an article exposing a plot against her, backed by an audio recording that vindicated her innocence. I rushed to share it with her, hoping it would reach her amidst the ongoing psychological torment she endured every night.

Yet, the damage had been done. The online attacks had left her psychologically scarred, trapped in a relentless cycle of treatment and haunted by nightly screams. Her promising future now overshadowed by unfounded accusations, she grappled with a pain that seemed insurmountable – a tragedy orchestrated by faceless individuals hiding behind screens, masquerading as heroes.

Her journey, once marked by dreams and passion, had become a stormy sea where survival meant enduring the ruthless onslaught of judgment. In the end, it wasn't death she feared; it was the harsh reality of a world where people willingly destroyed each other to claim a semblance of survival.
