Is the NFL being Unreasonable
Should NFL fine player $10,500 for green shoes? Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall says he has been fined $10,500 by the NFL. The NFL levied the fine because Marshall wore green football shoes in the Bears' game against the New York Giants. The NFL says that Marshall committed a "uniform violation."
“Everyone is trying to get attention but an intelligent person does it by doing something worthwhile beneficial to himself and to the community.”-(Beatrice Sparks). NFL players are fined when breaking uniform violation. When players get drafted they are assigned a certain brand name and color. If they break their contract, they will be fined. Brandon Marshall, Rashead Bennett and Marshawn Lynch are fined for breaking this rule.These three players have been fined for breaking uniform for violating wearing colored cleats, however not all of them should have been.
Rashaed Bennett should be fined. Bennett has worn orange cleats three times . His total fine is 15,000 dollars. Officials said if he wore them again he would not be allowed on the field.
Marshawn Lynch should be fined. Lynch was fined for wearing green cleats against the Texans. He was fined 5,250 dollars for uniform violations. Lynch should be fined because he had no reason of doing it.
Brandon Marshall should not be fined. In the NFL players can break that rule during Cancer Awareness Month when they wear pink, but Brandon Marshall was fined for wearing green cleats for supporting his cause? Brandon Marshall was fined for wearing green cleats to support Mental Health Awareness Week . In 2010 he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. He was fined $10,000. He matched the amount of the fine to help support children with mental health issues.
Even though NFL players know they will be fined for violating uniform rules, not all of them should be. NFL players are fined for wearing uniform violation, however see what their reason. Three players in the NFL have been fined, two hand no reason and one has a reason. If NFL players have a reason for violating uniform rules they should not be fined.
