Possession

Lately I have been feeling withdrawn from my regular routine. I have been alienating myself unintentionally from my family and friends and I don’t know why. The other day I couldn’t help myself from using all sorts of profanity when talking to a cashier. It seemed as if every other sentence was a accident. The other night I brought out my pistol and thought about ending it all. When a dark voice in my head told me to wait. “Not yet” he said. “I still have plans for you”. I didn’t know what all of this meant. Why was someone taunting me with childish games? Why can I not bring myself to end my own life? I killed multiple people and I can’t kill myself. The next morning I was commanded by the voice to enter my closet. I found myself moments later chanting gibberish in front of a mirror with a knife in my hand. I sliced my palm like butter and drew symbols with my own blood on the mirror, all while screaming in an inaudible language. A faint flicker and I find myself trapped in the mirror. The man who looks like me on the other side is holding the same knife I used to cut myself. A faint sound from a different room says, “Honey, breakfast is ready”.
