Work
John walked through the light gray door,
and went to see his favorite patient.
The light blue gown swallowed her frail body sprawled on the dismal blue bed.
Her grayish skin has gone almost back to normal.
Pride shined through John’s bright blue eyes,
-----she will be fine because of his hard work.
He waltzed into the next room,
and hoped for another swift recovery.
-----Today went well, only several patients weren’t improving.
The nurses in their royal blue scrubs bid John farewell.
He said he was going on vacation
-----to a place with blue waters and white sandy shores.




En Route
The bright yellow sun greeted him on his way out
so he put on his black Ray-Bans to tame it.
Sitting in his blood red Corvette,
-----He couldn’t help but appreciate his hard work,
that got him all the way to where he is now.
The light turned yellow and he quickly slowed to a stop.
Having red and blue lights flash behind him could be disastrous,
-----not only to him, but everyone who depends on him.
He glanced quickly at his hospital-supplied-cheapest-they-could-find pager,
then turned on the radio to his favorite blues station.
He cautiously drove so there wouldn’t be an accident,
-----there is plenty chances of that at home




At Home
He walked in the back room and checked on everything.
The walls stark white in contrast to the jet black printing machines.
He had everything he could ask for,
-----when making any form of document
------------or money.
Three white extra copies of his degree sat in the corner,
in case something happened to the one hanging in his office.
Today was twenties day
-----the best day of the week.
His friend, Richie, just got here,
so he could take that vacation
-----with racks of twenties hot off the press
“See ya later Malcolm,” Richie called after him.
