The Building
We all stand in line. Hours and hours of waiting. The line leads into a building. A small child lost her mother in line. "Mommy? Mommy?" No one answers. No one speaks. No one smiles. The line is enticing. Why else would all these people be in line? Surely there is a just reason. No. No reason. Just fear. Fear and insecurity. Fear of being left out. Insecure of your belongings and happiness. What wondrous things are lurking beyond the heavy wooden door. Every five minutes, a man in a black cloak emerges from within. He takes the first one in line by the arm, and leads him or her into the darkness. No one ever comes out. They stay forever. No one leaves, yet everyone comes.
