I woke up, breathing hard, gasping for air. The smell of death was all around me. Breathing became harder and harder, taking little sips of air, it was like breathing with a straw in my mouth. I didn’t know what was happening. I started to look side to side like a mad man. I got up quick from my bed, I was looking around my room for my clock to see what time it was. It was 2:59 a.m. I didn’t know why, but seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours and hours felt like days.
As I tried to make sense of my surroundings, I notice that there was blood all over my walls like a slaughter took place while I was sleeping. I started to panic, so I tried to run outside of my room.
I was looking at the door, but every time I moved closer, the door got further away. I felt like I had been running for hours, but I seemed to be at the same place I started from. I didn’t move at all. I had no idea what was happening, so I looked at the clock again to see what time it was. It was still 2:59 a.m. I was scared, so I ran at the door and finally got outside of my room.
The smell of death got stronger, the little sips of air got harder. I stopped to breathe and I looked around. I was, somehow, outside in a foggy swamp. There was a creature I had never seen before, like some sort of small human but with small shark teeth, big red eyes and scales instead of skin. This swamp had blood instead of water. Bodies of dead people were scattered all around me. I couldn’t believe where I was at and what I was seeing. That scared me half to death.
I turned around so I could run to my room but it wasn’t there. It was hard to understand the situation I was in, I didn’t know what was happening to me or why. All I knew was that something big was happening.
I heard my name being called out several times in a faint whisper, Tyler, Tyler, Tyler, from every direction. It was driving me crazy. Every step I took felt like a step closer to death. I closed my eyes and thought to myself, “I’m never going to make it out of here alive.” As soon as I opened my eyes, a big, tall black shadow stood in front of me and pointed behind me. When I turned around to look, I could see in my room and the clock barely turned 3:00 a.m. As soon as it turned “3:00,” I knew pain was coming my way.
I heard a loud bell. As it was ringing, my ears begin to bleed. I fell to the floor. I felt excruciating pain throughout my whole body. Every bone inside my body was being broken; my arm broke backwards again and again. My leg broke forward, my back was being folded all the way backwards. I felt every finger break, and every finger nail being pulled out of my fingers. I felt blood come out of my eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. I closed my eyes one more time and I told myself, “I don’t want to live anymore,” and I let out my last breath of air.
I opened my eyes, and I was in a small room, with all sorts of needles in the interior of my arm. I screamed, kicked, and bucked, I did anything I could do to get out of the straps, but the straps were too tight.
Before I knew it, a curtain opened with a window and a clock behind it. Behind that window was a crowd of people. Some were crying, some were mad and screaming, “He deserves to die!” I begged them to stop and let me go, but no one did anything. I looked at the clock above the window and it turned “3:00.”
The doctors around me pressed a black button, and as soon as he pressed it my eyes got heavier and heavier. I knew then this was my last breath of air, so I let it out for the last time.
