An Altered Reality
All I could do was watch sinking into my chair as if I were made of jello. My father is screaming at the top of his lungs, his face bright red, nothing but profanity. My mother covers her terrified turquoise eyes. It was as if I could smell the tension filling the air. Punches are thrown. My mother puts her hands up. After the first hit to the head the victim was in a violent haze. Round and round goes the room. A bloody mess. A bloody mess. Struggling to survive the victim falls on conscious. The referee walks over holds up the man’s hand as he announces the new heavy weight champion of the world.
