The air smells of salt and sea fish, an unpleasant yet familiar smell to Jason, making his nose crinkle slightly as he breathes in the morning air from the deck. His gaze shifts to the sky, clouds litter the light blue in small groups the white puffs slowly moving. The sun peeking between the clouds shimmers brightly atop the moving water. He sighs leaning his head back, what a perfect day for fishing.
“What a nice day!” Jason yelled over his shoulder to his fishing partner, Bert, who just nodded at him. They both have enjoyed fishing for as long as they can remember, both young boys sitting in lawn chairs at a creek or lake for hours together. Sighing at the memory he once again cast his line into the water, though nothing wants to bite today.
“It’d make my day better if we actually caught something,” Bert grunts once again as he again catches nothing. Jason shrugs, even though nothing’s biting he enjoys the steady rocking of the boat and the sound of splashing water against the hull. Reeling his line back in, Jason makes his way over to Bert, and slightly nudges him while saying,
“Appreciate the beautiful day!”
“Yeah yeah,” Bert quietly scoffs back almost giving up hope of catching anything at all that day, not even a piece of seaweed had gotten trapped on his hook.
“What's goin' on? Beautiful day and nothing’s bitin’!” Bert growls in frustration. Jason went to answer him when their boat started to rock slightly almost knocking him down, his boots squeaking atop the wet deck, he looked out to the water to see no waves. He quickly regains his footing but loses it once again as Bert yells in victory.
“Got ya,” he laughed happily reeling in a fish. First catch of the day!
Probably the last too, but they didn’t know that yet.

Meanwhile underneath the water sits a school of fish, minding their own. They rest in the lovely cool shade the boat has created. A couple of them see the fisherman's hooks drop into the water, yet, it’s too relaxing to care what is on it. They swim at a leisurely pace, not a worry in the world. Watching as a hook is dropped into the water, and then brought back up again and again. Some start to get annoyed at the sight, swimming further away from it.
Then, the fish start to feel a slight pull, hearing a whishing sound, and they easily fight against it, swimming in the other direction. As every second passes, this pull gets stronger. The wishing sound gets louder, the fish still oblivious to what is happening. They continue swimming against the current until it has gotten too strong for them to fight against. One by one the fish start to lose the strength to swim in the other direction. Panicking, they move their fins as quickly as they can, but to no avail.
They get swept off, colliding with each other hard enough that some scales start to rip off. Now getting sucked down to the ocean floor the speed of the water is so quick and so unforgiving as it rips their flesh, then darkness. They cannot breathe, they cannot see, and they are slowly suffocating at the bottom of the draining ocean.

Jason is the first to notice their boat start to rock, a slow and steady pace at first just slightly throwing his balance off. Then it all happens too quickly for Jason to process, the boat is rocking harder throwing a plethora of things off the ship. Bert shouts a panicked yell as he watches their boat get ripped apart from the water, the sound of scraping metal and sloshing water fills the air.
A wave hit the boat a little too hard and sent Bert flying towards the edge, before he got dumped in the water he yelled out for Jason. His grip is slippery but he manages to grab the boat's railing, his lower half dunked into the swift water. He heaves a breath of relief, thinking he avoided death. Jason's jaw dropped in horror as he watched his friend get ripped in half by the water's speed, painting the water red, he didn’t dare move a muscle, in fear he would come to the same fate as his dear friend.
His legs are shaking, and his breath is shallow, Before he knew it, the boat had flipped dumping everything, Jason included. He tried to scream, but his lungs burned as water filled them. The muffled sound of the boat propeller filled his water-logged ears, he could not see where it was coming from. Panicking he tried pushing against the currents before a searing pain was shot through his foot, then his legs, then his whole body, and then he felt nothing. He too had met the same fate as Bert.
