I went on vacation to one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Fairyshine hotels include their own waterpark and ravishing suites. I came to this hotel to give myself a treat for my twenty-first birthday, but instead, I found out about, what i could say, something overwhelming.

It was a beautiful day in California. I was parking my car to take my luggage out for my extravagant stay at Fairyshine Hotel. I was in the lobby checking into my room when I felt someone stare at me. I turned around and I saw a middle-aged woman looking at me, especially the jewelry I was wearing.

I was wearing a necklace worth more than my stay at the hotel, also including two 4k diamond rings with a matching earring set.

I felt very uncomfortable at that moment. I figured she was a maid for the hotel because she wore the traditional outfit suitable for that role and she was rolling a cart full of cleaning supplies.

One thing that popped out to me was a wooden box on the last shelf of the supply cart. It could have been used for more supplies but it didn't seem to be because it had a name on it: Malia.

I took my luggage and took the elevator to the third floor, where I would be staying.

Was this a bad idea, I asked myself. I was already regretting the stay and feeling very creeped out by the woman. As I was unlocking the door to my suite the maid walked by to clean a room. She was looking at me again, as if waiting for me to go inside my suite. Before I opened the door, I managed to catch a glimpse of her name tag. Malia was what I saw. The box must be her’s, I thought as I opened the door and walked into my room.

My hotel suite was amazing, I had my own sauna with a gorgeous bathroom. A king bed with a personal mini kitchen and an office! It was all fantastical.

I set my jewelry down on  a dresser and I took a relaxing bath, just what I needed. I finished taking a bath when I heard someone knock on my door. I quickly changed and opened the door.

  It was the maid, Malia.

She said, “Hi, I'm here to clean,” and she glanced at my jewelry. I told her, “Well, I just got here and I haven't called the lobby for cleaning, so no thank you.” The maid said, “Ok, but I'm still going to clean.”

  “No, I said no.”

Then what must have been the manager, walked by and Malia immediately straightened up and kindly said, “Have a nice day.”

She is very creepy, I better hide my jewelry before she comes back, I said to myself.

I stayed in my suite for a while longer and then I left to go get dinner.

As I was leaving my suite, the maid was there again, staring dead at me with cold stone eyes, expecting me to leave.

I stared back I and waited for her to leave. A few moments after staring, she reluctantly left.

At this point, She was very suspicious.

I went to eat and when I got back, she was there, yet again.

She had the supply cart she had rolled around everywhere she went. She was about to open a door, the door to my suite. She seemed ready to begin cleaning when I stopped her.

“I didn’t call for cleaning, the lobby says you don't clean rooms until I request,” I said, angry. She quickly looked in my direction and then looked at the door. “Oh, wrong room,” She said, seeming very upset at the fact that I wouldn't let her go in.

I watched as she headed for the elevator.

Later that day, it was actually time for my suite to be cleaned. I called the front lobby to request cleaning and I hoped I wouldn't get the maid that has been creeping me out my whole trip.

When the maid knocked on the door, it was the her, Malia. She would be the one cleaning my suite.

There wasn't anything I could do because I requested cleaning so I went into the lobby to wait.

I was surprised to see her finish in less than twenty minutes as my suite was total chaos.

Nonetheless, I went up to the suite to see what she did.

  It was squeaky clean.

How did she finish that fast, I thought to myself.

The next day, I got ready for dinner. As I was about to finish, I couldn't find my diamond necklace. I know I hid it in the dresser,

  But it was gone.

There was only one person who could have stolen it, the maid. She was the only one in my suite other than myself.

I was very upset and frustrated because my diamond necklace cost a fortune.

I didn't want to bail on my dinner reservation so I decided I would complain later.

When I got back to the hotel, it was eleven at night so it was extremely dark. I agreed with myself that I would complain in the morning, when most would be awake.

I waited for the elevator and unsurprisingly, the maid was there. Again.

The whole way up, I was very uncomfortable because I had the feeling that she was staring right through me. The thought of it gave me goosebumps.

As I left the elevator, I caught a glimpse of the wooden box. There was a crack in the box, and I saw something shine in the reflection. My diamond necklace.

I had a plan. I called the front lobby to request a room cleaning again and I put my earrings on top of my dresser, and hid under the bed. I put my phone on silent and opened the camera app. I would get proof.

Not too long later, the maid opened the door to the room and walked in. She did as she was told too, she vacuumed, made the bed, dusted the furniture, cleaned the windows, and got the laundry.

I was relieved she didn't bother vacuuming under the bed.

The maid was just about to leave but, before she left, she looked at my earrings, grabbed them, and put them in her wooden box.

All the while she was doing this nonsense, I caught it on camera.

I knew all along that the maid was very suspicious but I didn't have any proof until now.

The next day, I went to the front office and I asked for the manager.

“Take a look at this,” I told him.

  I showed him everything.

He looked at it all and said,”I knew all along she had a secret.”
