The Collapse
Screams coming from everywhere was all I could hear, when it happened. I remember the bright flash of lights, and then complete darkness. That's when we all started running. People scramble to get away not knowing who or what was beside them, as the world began to close in. Children crying while the buildings came crashing down on the only place they knew. Parents screaming as the people around them got swept away in the undertow of feet. The darkness was swallowing me whole and the only thing I could do was run even though the air seemed to get thin. That's when the clock slowly started to tick. Tick, the children stopped crying. Tick, the parents stopped screaming. Tick, everything fell silent.
