FADE IN:
EXT. 1 Wilmington Ma
In: Market Basket (Sunday Morning)
At the register
JOE:
Today has been the longest day
thank god we only have an hour
left.
MORGAN:
Right, I hate when its slow. I feel
like were here forever.
JOE:
I wish while we were working
something interesting would happen.
(Morgan thinks for a little)
MORGAN:
Like a celebrity coming in the
store. How cool would it be if like
Adam Levine walked in?
JOE:
Yes, and then we made the news!
That would be awesome.
Another worker comes in and goes on the for both Joe and
Morgan and they go there own way.
MORGANS HOUSE
Morgan comes home to her mom and they are talking.
KAYLA:
How was work Morgan?
MORGAN:
Boring and very slow today.
Sometimes I really wanna quit.
KAYLA:
You cant quit. You need to work and
save your money for college. Trust
me the more you save now the less
you will be in debt when you get
older.
Kayla sighs

MORGAN:
I know mom. Working just isn’t fun
plus none of my friends do it.
KAYLA:
I’m sorry it sucks now but you will
thank me later.
There is a long and drawn out awkward silence.
KAYLA:
When is the next time you’re
working this week?
MORGAN:
Tomorrow 5:45-10
KAYLA:
Ok, I will drive.
MORGAN:
Can i just take the car?
KAYLA:
No I will pick and drop you off at
work.
MORGAN:
You never let me take the car
its not fair.
KAYLA:
Life’s not fair. If you want a car
so bad save up your money and buy
one.
MORGAN:
Why cant you buy me one like
everyone else’s parents.
Both Morgan and Kayla’s voice begin to raise.
KAYLA:
You wouldn’t appreciate what you
have if I just bought you
everything. And why don’t you stop
comparing yourself to your friends.
MORGAN:
I hate you!
Morgan runs to her room and slams her door shut

MORGAN:(V.0)
My mom doesn’t treat me fairly. Why
cant she just buy me a car like
everyone else’s parents do. She
doesn’t understand like i’m the
only one with out my own car.
INT: WILMINGTON MARKET BASKET
Morgan arrives for her shift at work.
MANAGER:
Morgan, go on register 8.
Morgan walks over to her register and doesn’t even say hi to
her bagger Steve because she is still upset about her fight
with her mom.
MORGAN:
Hi, how are you?
CUSTOMER:
Good thank you. How are you?
MORGAN:
Good thanks.
CUSTOMER:
Its pretty slow today huh?
MORGAN:
I don’t know why. It was like this
yesterday too.
A gun shot goes off.
Everyone in the store screams. Some people run out of the
store while other people just hide. Morgan and Steve duck
down by the register.
MORGAN:
Please tell me that wasn’t a gun.
STEVE:
I think it was. It sure as hell
sounded like one.
Morgan starts balling her eyes out.
MORGAN:
We need to get out of here.
(CONTINUED)

STEVE:
We cant leave if someone really has
a gun in here they could be up
front for all we know.
MORGAN:
I just got into a fight with my
mom, I cant die and not tell her
that I love her.
STEVE:
You will get out of here soon and
see your mom. Why don’t you try to
call her?
Morgan pulls out her phone and tries calling her mom but has
no service.
MORGAN:
Oh my god I cant even call her.
STEVE:
You will see her I promise.
MORGAN:
Nothings happened maybe were fine
and we can leave now.
STEVE:
No we should wait and see if the
make an announcement about it. Just
in case.
The loud speaker goes off
MANAGER:
Attention everyone the noise that
went off was not a gun shot it was
one of our machines that had broke.
We are very sorry for the
inconvenience. Everyone will
receive 5% off there purchase
today.
Morgan runs out of the car and sees her mom standing in the
parking lot.
Both Morgan and Kayla are crying.
KAYLA:
Are you ok?
(CONTINUED)

let me in.
MORGAN:
I’m so happy you were here. Can we
just go home now.
KAYLA:
Of course.
Kayla and Morgan get in the car and go home.
INT: KAYLA AND MORGANS HOUSE
KAYLA:
What do you wanna do for the rest
of the night?
MORGAN:
Can we just watch movies together
and talk?
KAYLA:
Sounds perfect.
MORGAN:
Do you think tomorrow we could just
have a girls day?
KAYLA:
