The sun shone brightly. It glowed with a glistening and mysterious looking beam of warmth on my face. Shauna was still sleeping when I woke up and she seemed to be oblivious to the chirping of birds, there was no real point in waking her up. I decided to go and catch some fish for lunch before she woke up. The smell of the river was refreshing, with the soft and calming sound of the rushing river as it traveled downstream with a soothing splash. However, the sound of the crashing water made me oblivious to Shauna’s yells looking for me. ”Bran!!, where in the world did you go” her voice echoed towards me and I turned just in time to see that she had come with a net ready to help as if she knew exactly what I was about to do before I even did it.
“How in the world did know where I would be”? I stated. “You’re too easy to find” she exclaimed looking at me with very shifty eyes.  I should’ve expected no less, we were already friends for 10 years and she knew me better than anyone. The reason for the trip to this forest was because I agreed to a mission to hunt a monster by the leader of a village not too far from the cave. And of course Shauna always loved to follow me no matter where I went, but that always ended up horribly since she always wanted to solo every creature we went across. We might have both been hunters but that didn’t really mean we did well. She asked about the mission again,“We need to take out a monster from one of the caves that holds a very abundant supply of iron ore, that could supply the village with much needed defenses.” I exclaimed. “Pfft, that’s nothing, I’ve taken down so many creatures before” she gloated. She was right, she had been able to take on so many monster and won, but the problem was it was an ore mine. The only creature I could think of that would be in a cave of iron, was a dragon. One creature we had yet to win against. “Anyways let’s go we are almost there.
The cave was much more extraordinary than I had thought it to be. The cave was huge, able to carry the largest of boulders, and maybe even a dragon. Inside was even more of a mystery to explain. The only thing in the cave was ore upon ore, so much so that it could supply two very big armies. No wonder they wanted this creature gone. As we entered a loud crackle arose from the inside of the cave. There was nothing in sight, since it seemed to go on forever. “What was that?” asked Shauna. “I’m not sure but…” I was interrupted by a very loud rumbling. As we looked up a very large and very angry dragon slowly stood its head up and looked down on us.
The eyes seemed to stare at your soul, with a thirst for blood and intelligence with every second it continued to stare. The scales were a dull, and soul consuming, charcoal like gleam. With every breath the dragon took the smoke bellowed from its mouth in big gushes. We immediately drew our weapons and charged a it. Before we even got near it, the dragon’s mouth slowly opened revealing a bright light and I knew what was happening the moment i saw it. I yelled at shauna to duck and she did so, barely avoiding the fire spewing out of the dragon. I took the chance to attack while it was not looking, but I underestimated it’s speed and it threw it’s tail out, hitting me hard and knocking me onto the cave wall. I fell with a big thud and blacked out. When I came to Shauna was looking down on me grinning with victorious satisfaction. “You gotta work on your fighting” she exclaimed as I looked at the dead dragon. “how did you beat it?” I exclaimed. “Pfft, that was easy, after you got knocked out like the klutz you are I clung on to its back and drove my sword straight through it’s head” I stood up and exclaimed to her, “alright, let’s tell the village and get this Beast out of here. And I really do have to work on my fighting.” We laughed aloud as we walked out of the cave playfully.
