It was summer time in Ohio Luke, Andy and Max were playing basketball. All three boys went to James Milsher Middle School. They loved being outside, making up crazy stories, and going to their old tree house in the woods late at night. While they were playing basketball Luke blurted, “Why don’t we camp out in the tree house tonight?” Max and Andy both looked at each other and darted to their homes to see if they could. Ten minutes later they all came back. Luke exclaimed, “I can’t wait, my dad said I could only if I take out the trash before I go.” He looked at Andy. “I’m allowed!” Andy exclaimed. Max said softly “ I have to help my dad fix the fence at my grandpas in the Morning. ” Luke suggested sneaking out which Max was considering.
Luke and Andy went into the tree house with their sleeping bags and flashlights in hand. They climbed the rope latter and swung open the hatch. Bam! They put their things in the corner and opened the wooden shutters. They could see the stars through the opening. All of a sudden they heard a banging sound coming from the hatch to get in. Whoosh the wooden door opened… it was Max. They gasped in relief; Andy threw a twig at him and said kiddingly “Who said you could come?” They all laughed. Max glanced out the window and saw a flash of light, then a bigger one. He was going to alert Andy and Luke but they were staring at it too. “What is that?” asked Andy. Maybe it’s aliens. Max told them all that they should keep it secret.
When Max woke up in the morning he was stunned to see that half of the tree house was ripped off. Max backed up saying “Guys? Hey guys wake up!” Luke murmured “Quite I’m trying to sleep.” Luke looked around with disbelief. Andy was wide-awake by now. They all got their sleeping bags and rushed down the latter. Andy stammered, “Do you think this has to do with the flash of light?” Max nodded his head. “Now we have to tell someone!” Luke yelped. When they got to Max’s house he said, “I have to tell my dad he is a police officer. He will know what to do.” Max told his dad but his dad was not convinced. He tried calling the police station but he just got into more trouble.
The police showed up at his house and took him to a station. It was hours before he came back. He said that the flash was an extraterrestrial but he wasn’t allowed to speak of it. Luke and Andy were shocked when they heard that. Andy shouted, “Why did you tell us that! Now they will try to contain us.” Max widened his eyes to see a black van driving slowly past them. Andy shouted, “Run!” They both darted to the woods. They were dodging trees when three men in suits stopped them.
To this day no one has seen the boys or the flash of light. After they disappeared the tree house was under investigation. The whole neighborhood was in quarantine. All communication to the rest of the population banned. The residents were taken to government facilities to live. All the homes were knocked down. The tree house was disassembled and taken away.
