“In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.”
― Robert Frost

The sky shakes with the deafening roar of a clap of thunder, it is completely black, only broken by brilliant streaks of lightning. She struggles against the fierce winds, her dress billowing behind her as she steadies herself.

It’s time to return home. She runs, treasuring the wet grass and the wind pushing against her, and stops at the edge of a steep precipice that fosters a tree, gnarled and crooked from the winds. She gazes back at the rolling hills, slick with rain, and the beautiful, tumultuous sky.

Below her, waves clash and collide, the black water is spotted with sea-foam. The skeleton of a ship rests at the bottom, among the sharp rocks. She jumps, her head pointed towards the waves, ready to swallow her. Her dress ripples like a slab of moonlight against the violent, dark sky.

Just before the waters can swallow her, she curves up, flying over the waves, mist streaking her face. Her fingertips graze the water as she flies. She stops, and hovers above the waves. Suddenly, the waves engulf her as she surges upwards and tumbles backwards into their cold depths. The water has never known any light, blackness conceals the water’s depths.

She spins in the water and explodes upwards, the water forming a magnificent spiral as she ascends.

Sighing sadly, she reaches the end of the world, the black water pouring off into nothingness. Time to go home.

The sky expands forever here, mirroring the black water. She soars higher and higher rejoining the sky where she belongs, fitting perfectly like a key in a lock. The sky lights up, the darkness broken by her light, as she smiles down upon the wonders of that world. A shaft of moonlight pierces the far away storm clouds as she shines. She is home.

Thank you! I really focused on imagery in this piece. Read the last few lines again... :)
