The Abyss to my Unrequited Desire
Love-shot eyes, I fixate on an endless abyss. Her allure compels me to yearn for the plunge. Yet, my mind churns. Knowing equates to scrutinizing each stair on a tight staircase. Confined, I survey up and down, confirming every slab's presence before the cautious step. Most oblivious to the abyss, evade the weight of certainty. Fueled by hope, I leap — into life, death, and the between. "Hi?" I utter, voice trembling. She walks away, footsteps echoing through the hollow chambers of my longing heart. The abyss I sought to conquer yawns wider, its depths now unfathomable, I remain a solitary figure on its precipice.
