Love will wait
The girl who wasn’t social, the girl who didn’t have that many friends, was the girl who had the same crush since 5th grade. He was amazing, he was good at everything. He was cool, he was good looking, he was smart, he had friends that didn’t stab him in the back. I mean every girl liked him. He was perfect. But every girl was the same to him. Which is why he didn’t like most of them. We were good friends, maybe at some points we were more than friends. Through the years this girl and this boy were off and on as most couples are, but this relationship was different. The boy never told his friends that he was talking to this girl, as if he didn’t want anyone to know. The girl, on the other hand only told her best friend and only the people she was close with, the people she knew who wouldn’t spread the word around. As if it was a big deal. As if it was going to make him happy. As we get older the more we understand about love. Freshman year, the girl and boy were closer than ever. They went to the school dance alone. I was at the table alone and he was at the table in front of me. The boy got up and sat next to the girl. The girl was brave enough to ask him to dance with her, the boy said yes. They got up to dance, it was so much fun. They lost track of time that the dance was almost over, and of course the last song was a slow song. But neither of them made a move. Sad. but later on that night when they texted each other, both said that they had wished they made a move to slow dance with each other. That made me happy. And then a couple days later it was as that night at the dance didn’t even happened. The boy had moved on to another girl. The girl was devastated, she was heart broken. Sophomore year, again they were close. But she decided this time she was going to try her best to not let him go, so she got the confidence to ask the boy to the school dance. The boy said yes, I was really happy. I saw people on social media posting their dates to the dance and how they asked them. The girl thought it would be cute to ask him officially to the school dance in front of lot of people. But before she did, she wanted to make sure if it was cool with him. His response was “I’m sorry but I’m not going anymore, I’m sorry” At that point I really didn’t care. But as soon the dance came around the corner I heard that he was taking someone else, I wanted to cry, honestly. But the girl still went to the dance, she didn’t need a date to go to a dance and have fun. She had so much at the dance although it sucked watching him dance with another girl, she still had fun. If you were confused at some points I’ll try to clear things up… that girl…..was me. Me and this boy still talk, as friends of course. I’ve learned multiple times to not have feelings for the same guy who hurt you. But I hope I’m strong enough stay friends with him.
