I am walking down the street in my hometown, shivering. All I could make out were the lights along the road through the foggy atmosphere. The crisp air froze my ears and nose. I am wandering with no point B in sight.
I want to get out of this town that doesn’t ever seem to benefit me. Ever since I lost my original direction, there is nothing holding me back anymore.
In the distance, I gazed at the calm lightning that shot down from the heavens miles away. It attracted me towards it. I had my point B, somewhere to finally go. An adventure called my name and I’m listening for the first time.
The April rain fell upon my frozen cheeks. The umbrella-like trees in the forest high above protected me. The lightning struck again, followed by the angry thunder that startled the animals who were on their own trail just like me. The world was in a new light as my direction became visible.
Only the sound of my footsteps splash through the puddles in the silent night. As I watch the cloudy sky in the darkness, my thoughts wander on their own. The thoughts pave the new trail that the raindrops fall down on.
I run into an unknowing darkness. I am wandering once again with no direction as the sky clears up and the stars shine for the first time in months. The frigid air remains cold. I shiver in the night unable to become comfortable and warm from where I originally stand. I am lost once again.
