The Wanderers

With the blizzard heavily coming down on them the three men trudged on ward. The nearer they came to the top of the mountain the harder the wind blew. They have been wandering aimlessly for hours, and by now the storm greatly impaired their vision. After the accident they knew the only way to safety was up. Jim intrepidly led the way step by step. Dwight, the youngest was so timorous after the plane went down that he was almost left behind. Forced to continue on with Jim and Charlie, Dwight struggled to keep up. Faintly he heard Jim’s strong voice call out, “Hang in there I see a light ahead!” But it was too late; Dwight had already fallen down in the heavy snow too weak and cold to continue. Charlie was at his brother’s side in an instant. Not knowing what to do, Charlie scooped him into his arms and vigorously began plowing through the winter storm. His valor saved his brother’s life, and Dwight is forever grateful.
