3.2.1 AHHHH and Lawrence North wins the game with there best player Melvin Deamus hitting the game winning shot against Lawrence Central there rival. As i go into the locker room the crowd was screaming my name “MELVIN..MELVIN..MELVIN..MELVIN.” When i get into the locker room the coach calls me over and tells me to walk with him to another room. Then we went in the room with a lot of men that stood up when i came in and they introduced themselves and told me what colleges they were representing and that they needed to ask me questions and that i had to pick the school i liked best. The teams that wanted to scout me was Indiana State, Kentucky State, Michigan State, and Oregon State.

So i picked Oregon State because that was my dream school to play a sport for and it was a good school to play sports for and to get an education. I walked over to him and took a seat at his table to talk about playing at Oregon and getting a college education. When i sat down he said “ Hi Melvin my name is Mr.Major and i am here because we are interested in your basketball skills and we seen that your grades have always been good so we want you to play for are team and we want you to get your college education,and what do you think about this Melvin.” I told him “ I think it would be good for me to go to the college of my dreams and play basketball for you, but is there a catc- and Mr.Major cut me off before i could finish my words and said “ Before you think bad it is a full scholarship because you are playing sports and we pay for it because we want you to be with us not you want to be with us.” I said “ ok” and we shook hands and he gave me a card and told me to keep in touch so we can keep talking about the offer. So i went to go get my stuff and to find my mom so we could go home and i could tell her and my family the good news that happen to me after the game.

So i finally found my mom outside waiting for me in the car. When i saw her she hopped out the car and slam the door !BOOM! She runs towards me to give me a hug and that's when i told her “ mom after the game coach took me to a room with a lot of college scouts that wanted me to go to there school and play ball.” And my mom said “ well what team did you pick son.” I told her “i picked my dream school Oregon State and its not that far from you mom.” She told me “ but i don't know melvin i mean i can't afford that how much does it cost.” I told her “ That's the good thing there giving me a full scholarship because they want me to play Basketball.” At last we arrived to our house and pulled in the garage. When i walked in the house my little sister Rave ran up to me and said “ hi bub how was your game to day?” I wanted to tell her that i was going to go to Oregon but i didn't want her to tell anyone i didn't want to know so i just said “ it was a great game sis and i made the game winning shot.” After that i went up to my room to think about if i really wanted to go there and if i wanted to be that far from my family. Three weeks later i got a call from an unknown number,  but when i answered the phone it was just Mr.Major and he said “ Hey Melvin draft is only in one day so if you still want to come be downtown in 4 hours with your mom and dressed to impress. After our conversation i ran downstairs to tell my mom the good news about the draft and she said “ ok honey go get dressed and look nice.” So i went upstairs and looked in my closet and i had a nice black suit that i could wear so i put it on and went to go see what my mom was wearing and she had on black to so we were matching. Then we went into the garage and my mom started the car and said “ are you ready to go?” I was like “ YESS MOM!” With a lot of excitement. It took us a hour to get there and it was a big tall building with a lot of people and news anchors.When we pulled up there was a guy in a red jacket that took our car and Mr.major was at the door waiting for me to walk in the building. Then we went into the building to find a seat and that's when Mr.Major told me that i was the 2 draft pick for Oregon State. 10 minutes later a guy went to the microphone and said “ Now we will be starting our college draft.” There i am just sitting and waiting to hear my name not thinking about nothing else and he starts it by saying “ first pick of the college draft for kentucky state is Andre Green.” The next pick for Oregon State iis Melvin Deamus.” My mom jumped up out her seat and i stood up to go get my award and everybody screamed “ Go MELVIN..” When i went to go sit back down she told me that we had to leave because my sister was at home waiting on us to arrive so she could ask questions. But when we got home she was sound asleep, so i took my stuff off and went to bed.

The next i woke up and my mom was in my room packing boxes and writing different words on it to label what it was. I asked my mom why she was packing all my stuff and she said because she got a phone call saying i had to go to Oregon to stay on there campus.
