When Seth Brogans woke up he got dressed in his swim shorts.  As he ran
out the door Mrs. Brogans stopped him asking “Where are you going in such a
hurry?”  Seth told her “to the beach for a swim.” “Well don't be too long we have
to leave soon.”
As Seth ran down the beach he felt the searing sand on his feet, and the
hot sun on his back. He jumped right into the ice cold ocean.   As he dove deep
down he could feel the water rush over him.  He always loved that feeling, it
helped him to relax,  enjoying  the time he spent in the water.   Seth swam out
about 100 meters in the ocean and dove back down.  He could see the fish and
touch them.   When he touched them he could feel the smooth scales against his
hands.
When he returned to the shore, he could smell the saltiness of the water;
he loved that smell.   He could imagine Mrs. Brogans, on the other hand,
saying “how can you stand that smell it makes me sick? Go take a shower and get
cleaned up!”   He was able to clear his mind whenever he went for swims, there
was something about the water that helped him think.   If it were about school or
friends, anything at all, he felt free to think and it always cleared his mind.  That
was the reason he loved to swim so much.

As he rested a minute, he heard his mom’s anxious voice calling his name,
telling him “come clean up before we have to leave.”   Seth ran up the beach
He’d miss the sun on him the and the sand under his feet, a feeling he’d never
get tired of.
At the house his mom told him “go rinse your feet off, you are not tracking
sand into my house mister!” “yes, ma’am “ he replied.  After rinsing off his feet, he
went to shower and dress to leave.
After he got home he went right to bed and dreamed about swimming.
The next morning he got up before dawn, dressed and went for another swim
before his parents got up.   When he came back up to the house, Mr. and
Mrs. Brogans were waiting in the dining room drinking their coffee and having
breakfast. They told him “hurry up and shower your breakfast is getting cold”.

Every morning he did the same thing before he started his day.  Some people
hate it,  but he finds his joy in swimming  while it's hot and the water cool.
There were times when he spent half the day in the water.
There were days he would sit on the beach and wait for the tide to come in so the
cool water would brush up against his feet.
Sometimes after school, he would rush home just to go swimming.  Seth
didn't like to swim in pools, there wasn't enough space there for
him.  Also, with living on the beach, his backyard was the ocean.

For as long as Seth can remember he has always lived by the water.  That was probably the reason he loved swimming so much.
He joined his school's outdoor swim team, so it gave him more freedom to swim
and show how good he is at it.
He won four gold medals against some of the toughest school in the league.   He
realizes that some people won’t understand, but Seth can’t imagine not being in
the water.  He loves to swim that much.
