Dreams
He dreamed about turning 21 his whole life, and it was finally here. He dreamed of celebrating it in Vegas. Staying out late and having a great time. It was going to be the best birthday he had ever dreamt of. That night, since he was now legal, he wanted to have as much fun as possible. He knew he had to drive back to the hotel, but he still decided to drink. His friends were telling him to stop. He can’t drive drunk. All he would say back was that it was his birthday and he wanted to have fun. Soon enough his dream of the best birthday would turn into a nightmare. It was late, he was alone, and he was drunk. He knew it wasn’t safe to drive like this, but he took the risk. It was a red light, he didn’t slow down, he was going 40 over the speed limit. An 18 year old girl on her way home from her friend’s house was the unlucky one that day. What she thought was going to be a normal day, was really going to be her last day. She was on the opposite side of the road passing a green light, when the man struck her side of the car. The car was flipping and wouldn’t stop. Both cars were destroyed. The police arrived after a stranger called. That was her last day, I’m sure she never dreamt for her life to end like that. The man was in critical condition, but lived. Why does the one committing the crime live? It’s not fair! He didn’t dream for his birthday to end up like this, but it did. He killed someone. Now thats not a dream, thats a nightmare.
