It’s late, the hustle and bustle of everybody leaving the band hall after a busy day of band camp. I march uphill towards my GMC Sierra Classic. I accidentally parked by his white Nissan Altima. Or maybe it wasn’t by accident.
I can see Jared’s car in front of mine, and watch as he and Angela hug goodbye. I turn to put my red waterjug in the seat when a series of headlight flashes alerts me to someone coming to that white Nissan Altima.
"Hey, Ethan."
He nods his head. ‘Sup.
I get in my truck, crank the tired engine. Ethan pulls out and he pauses to yell something out the window at the embracing pair in front of me. I can see Jared laugh and mouth the word ‘no.’
I pull out after and roll down my window.
"Just kill him! Just kill him!"
"I want to!" Angela yells back. "Byeee!"
He didn’t seem to mind the PDA all that much back when it was us.
