What He Had
He served for seven months- the best months of his long, infantile life. Then it was over. “The president was laying off marines,” he said. “I was in the first batch to go.” His papers read, “Other than honorable discharge” merely on account of his four DUI’s rallied within a year long span. What a shame, he murmured to himself more than anyone; his life was ruined over those stupid teenage mistakes. He still wore his Marines hat, to this very day actually. Those seven months were what he had.
