Excerpt from 'The Promise'
Her hands leaped to her face, trying to cover the tears that have already formed in her ocean blue eyes. Her mouth immediately switched to a grimace, her pink and green braces showing on her bottom set of teeth. Her cheeks flushed a bright fuchsia, becoming the back-light shining on her orange- red freckles. Sobs from deep inside her gut rose, threatening to break out from her mouth, turning every-one's opinion of her upside down. It was an inner battle that she just couldn't fight, the urge was just too strong. The sadness completely took over her body, weeps becoming her poem.
