The man in the mirror scares me.

When I’m all alone,

He tells me no one loves me.

He tells me that he’ll kill me.

He’s a hideous being, always watching.

And though he’s just a man,

And though he can’t leave the mirror,

I can never escape him.

Because the man in the mirror is me.

This set piece is called The Man in the Mirror. For this set piece, I wanted to have the audience feel uncomfortable and scared, to set the mood by conveying negative emotions. The man is a personification of self hate, and is a symbol for it as well. The literary method I used was mood. Mood is the feeling set throughout parts or the whole story, and can be seen throughout it as well. I like this piece because it comes from personal experience.
