TW: SUICIDE ATTEMPT

Arabella peered over the cliffside. She spoke so softly it was too quiet to be a whisper. “I’m coming, dad. You won’t have to wait to see me any longer.” She smiled softly and closed her eyes. Her arms lifted so they were out next to her. She felt finally free. As she leaned forward, someone grabbed her arm, yanking her backwards. “Ara, what the hell are you doing? You could have-,” He stopped mid-sentence putting the pieces together. “Ara, please tell me you weren’t going to jump.” Arabella looked down still silent. She was mad at Ryder. She was going to finally be at peace, but at the same time grateful that someone cared about her enough to pull her back. This thought was enough to bring her to tears. She stood there crying softly, and Ryder walked closer to her pulling her into a hug. It was so sincere that even a stranger could see how much he loved her. “I’m sorry, Ryder. I didn’t know what else to do and-,” Ryder cut her off. “You have nothing to be sorry for, Ara. I’m just glad you ok. Come with me. I want to show you something.”

ONE YEAR LATER

Arabella peered over the cliffside. She spoke so softly it was too quiet to be a whisper. “I’m sorry, dad. I guess you will have to wait a little longer to see me. I love you.” She turned around to see Ryder smiling at her. He held out his hand. “I’m so proud of you, Ara. Let’s go home.”

A short story I wrote a couple years ago. I know there is more to it than this, but I wanted to know what you guys think.
