"What the flute" -Johnny Suh

Time was always a cruel mistress that stole lives, beauty, happiness, love, and chipped away at youth. But for some people, time is all they can think about, they sit in a classroom, bouncing their legs up and down continuously while watching the hands of the clock move slowly around the face. Seniors watch the calendar be flipped over to each new month after what seems like only weeks and suddenly, they feel the smooth satin fabric of a gown swooshing around their arms and making the hairs stand up on their neck. The square cap rests on their perfectly done hair and the tassel swings with every movement. They pull the caps off their heads and throw them in the air and the next thing they know, they are decorating their new dorm room, meeting their roommate, and declaring a major. Time brings both new doors and closes old windows as the generations grow up but never stop watching the time slowly tick and the minutes change while the hours pass. Time knows no boundaries, it goes by much too fast to put them up. One minute the maroon skirt is swishing against the legs and the next minute, lanyards are hung up, family name still facing out and ID photo swinging around, a thing of the past.
