The toy truck looked as if I could get into it and drive away. I named my shoes Willy and Silly. When I speak I whisper, when I laugh I hide my face. Leaves fascinate me, I love their majestic way of falling to the ground and waiting there to be carried away by the wind. I always dream of being a leaf and flying away from all my troubles. I saw a leaf today, I named it Robert. As I watched it dance in the morning light I held my backpack firm in my hands and tapped it as a waited for my mother. It was my first day of school. I like to wear a hat when I ride in cars to help me not get scared of the constant movement. I do not like school but the people there seem to be nice. As the man in the white coat leads me to my class I am in awe of the size of the hallway. I sit down in the circle with the others. I wait patiently till it is my turn to introduce myself. With a smile I say “I’m Billy and I have autism”.
