Fake love
Fake love they call it. What were they supposed to do? They had kids, a house, a life together, they couldn’t end it now. “For the sake of the kids,” they would say. What they didn’t realize was that the kids could see it too. From the way they awkwardly kissed before going to work, to the forced ‘I love you’s before bed. 15 years, no big argument, no abuse, nothing had really happened; the connection was just simply gone. At first they didn’t notice, but things had changed and they chose to not acknowledge it, not realizing they may even be harming themselves. They were okay with it, it was hurting them inside but the lifestyle had just become apart of them, it’s the way they are and the way they’ll always be. The question is, will they ever know what real love is again?
