Aisha comes from Busan, South Korea she plans on going to college but not in her hometown she wants to go to her dream college, NYU which is located in New York City. Her mom on the hand doesn’t agree with her decision to leave to a foreign country especially far from her. Little does her mom know that she sent an application to NYU and got accepted, Aisha is so ecstatic and thrilled but how will her mom react? As she expected her mom wasn’t too happy about the news, but her mom later on came around and told her “You should follow your dreams and be happy, I will always be here to support you”.  Aisha was speechless by her mother’s words and was grateful to have support from her mom.

                    The next morning Aisha got up early to buy her plane ticket to New York City, and started to pack her belongings. As the week passed by it was finally Saturday the day she leaves her home and her mom all behind her but she is ready to go and there is no turning back. As she had now arrived to the airport with her mom next her as her support she feels so many emotions going through her all at once as she is waiting for her gate number to be called. As time goes by she finally heard her gate number, she then turns to her mom and says her last goodbye to her. Her mother starts to cry but Aisha is trying to be strong and show her mom that she will be okay, she then starts to walk to the gate and takes one last look at her mom and waves at her she then enters to the plane and starts to look for her seat. As she is sitting there she is nervous but anticipated with excitement at the same time, within a few minutes of waiting the plane then takes off and is on its way. She is now ready for the long flight ahead to her where her dreams are at, she decides to take a nap and rest up for the arrival to New York City. Little did she know that it would be fourteen hours and thirty minutes long to arrive there but she was ready for the long trip and jet lag that comes along with it. She finally arrives to New York City she gets off feeling tired and super weak but she knew it was because of the jet lag, she then waits for her bags to arrive and soon she gets them but now she has to find her way to New York University.

                    She calls in a cab to a stop so she can be on her way to her destination, she finally got a cab to stop and told the driver what train station she wanted to go to so she can be on her way to the university. She is so mesmerized by all the buildings and big bright signs that she passed through, then her cab comes to a stop in front of a train station. She then gets off and goes inside of the station and waits for her train to arrive, but as she is waiting she starts to get sleepy and her eyelids are falling droopy she has had a long flight plus her jet lag wasn’t helping her much in the situation out. Little did she know that her train had arrived within a few minutes but as she was asleep she didn’t hear the train arrive and has no clue about it leaving her behind. A few hours later she wakes up she notices that it is late she then looks at the time and its 8:00 pm she is in shock now and doesn’t know what to do in this situation. Her train has left her behind and now she has no way to get to New York University, so then she just starts to walk on the busy walkways of New York. As she has been walking for at least an hour by now she is then brought with drops from the sky and then she realizes it’s going to start raining and she has nowhere and no one to help her out she wet, scared, and so disappointed with the situation she is now and she has no escape to this nightmare she put herself in.  She then finds some shelter at a nearby café until the rain stops pouring she finds a seat next to a girl who was busy doing something on her computer she wants to cry but she can’t because she is trying to figure out what to do right now, so she calls her mom. As she begins to click on her contact she then feels the chills and yells come from her mom’s side of the line but she doesn’t care she needs to hear her mom voice, she needs comfort and support right now. As the ringing of the other line is ringing she then hears her mom answer the phone and Aisha’s worries wear off as she hears her voice. As her and her mother are speaking to each other Aisha finally comes to tell her everything that has happened to her and she can tell her mother is disappointed but worried for her at the same time, and she can’t do anything to help her daughter out. But then her mom starts to tell her that she knew something like this would happen and started to get after her, but she doesn’t want to hear her mother getting after her she wanted comfort and support so she hangs up on her.

                    Aisha is then left alone without anyone to help her so she then starts to cry but little did she know that the girl next to her was listening to everything. So then the girl introduces herself to Aisha and that she would be able to help her out, she then starts to feel better that someone is there for her and to help her and she feels so grateful for the random nice girl. She then later finds out that her name is Emily and she welcomed her to her home and the next day Emily takes her to NYU and she gets her dorm room card and finds out they are roommates. From this day on Aisha and Emily are going to be the best of friends.
