Once there was a young boy named Marthus. Marthus was blonde, skinny and was in 6th Grade. He was mostly bullied for being “a midget” due to his height. Marthus was bullied and bullied because he never defended himself. This changed for Marthus, he quickly got the drive and motivation to finally defend himself. He watched hours and hours of a Karate Videos and “How to be a Ninja” videos. Next day, Malthus saw his most feared bully Aris. Aris walked up to Malthus and slapped his papers out of his hands. With almost no hesitation, Malthus socks Aris in the face. Aris was knocked onto the floor, and his face was like an exploded tomato. Marthus immediatly experienced a realization that no one can stop him. Marthus received a suspension for 2 weeks but this did not faze him because he knew that when he came back to school he would be respected and he wouldn't get bullied anymore. Ever since that moment, Marthus has been hitting the gym every day and has been partaking in teaching self-defense lessons to help kids defend against others. Marthus has been doing this for many years and is an instructor at many Karate classes. He even gives motivational speeches on why you should fight back oppose to being beaten.

One thing that surprised me is when I was making this short story is how it was a very short process of making the draft. However, when I was revising the essay it took much longer because I had so much to change. Ultimately, the story was almost entirely different once the essay was revised and altered.
My proudest part of the story is the overall message that it sends out and how real people can really benefit from reading this essay. I also used some similes and more figurative language throughout the story which is a skill that I got to use for the first time because this is the first story I have written this year.
If I were able to do writers workshop every week I would definitely explore poems because they seem very creative and fun to write about. I also like how poetry contains lots of sensory imagery, painting a picture for what I am writing, as opposed to drawing. I would also like to improve in my more professional sounding language because my writing never sounds formal.
