the dying turtle
“Help!” screamed Mia. Mia is a sea turtle living in the Atlantic Ocean. Mia has an average life. She hangs out with friends, family, goes to sea turtle school and much more. Something was changing about her home. Everyday there was mysterious objects floating all around. As the days went on more of these strange objects kept showing up. Although all of these objects kept showing up Mia kept living her life just how she normally would. It was just an average day for Mia. Swimming around, playing with her turtle friends. Mia and her friends decided they want to play tag that day. As her friend counted to one minute, Mia swam as fast as she could. She thought she has found the perfect hiding place, in a clump of seaweed where nobody could see her or hear her. Mia noticed that there was a strange object in the seaweed. This object was something that she had never seen before. Although Mia was excited, she was more focused on winning the game. Mia waited and waited which felt like forever, but after five minutes Mia thought she would come out and say that she won the game. She started to swim out but realized she was stuck. She didn't know what was going on, she was scared. After a moment she realized she was caught in plastic six-pack rings! Her family had warned her that they were very dangerous. She started to struggle and shout, but nobody could hear or see her. She struggled for days until a human found her and cut her free. She has cuts and marks around her fins, but was finally able to swim back to her friends.
