All three of the Jones brothers were enlisted in the United States Army in 1944.  Young lives and future potentials were already wasted in this 5th year of WWII. On the day of June 6, 1944, many lives were altered forever. Many, including the Jones brothers, knew it would be the day of their last battle, their last charge, and their last breath on Utah Beach. They charged through a field of bullets, pools of blood in front of them, and grenades shattering. One of the brothers, a medic, saved many wounded. Two long days later on the other side of the world, stormy rain was pounding on the kitchen window at the Jones home. While Mrs. Jones was washing the dishes, she saw outside a car that marked “United States Army”. She rushed to the front porch. Two uniformed men slowly got out of the car. With 3 telegrams in their hands, they solemnly walked toward the door. Mrs. Jones collapsed, and her wailings pierced through the neighborhood.
