        “There are plenty of fish in the sea,” they said.
        “The grass is always greener on the other side,” they said.
        “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” they said.
        “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” they said.
        “Every dog has its day,” they said.
        “Better safe than sorry,” They said.
        “There’s no time like the present,” They said.
        “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” they said.
        They said lots of things. But how could she listen? She hated fish and all seafood made her wrinkle her nose. She was colorblind and the grass was yellow from any side. She was allergic to apples. And lemons. And dogs (she was more of a cat person, anyway.) She was always sorry. She was a girl who lived in the past, and she usually didn’t have much time, either. And she was dead inside. So how could she listen to them?
